I ran my first race in the @iracingstockcarautoracing Xfinity Series tonight and it was a great race. .

I ran a great qualifying lap to start outside pole. Even though the pole sitter started in the back, due to procedures I was still 2nd, but this did not stop me. I took the lead on lap 3 and kept it until the one and only caution just after lap 10 (50 lap race). I restarted 4th due to strategy and sliding through my pit stall, but I quickly regained the lead. I kept it until lap 25 when Pro driver @lclampitt44 (pole sitter) finally passed around me. I held him off for a few laps, but I barley missed the bottom one time and that was it. I ran 2nd until pit stops and came out of the pits in 6th, but I quickly got back up to 2nd with my fresh tires. I had the upper hand on strategy in terms of tires and fuel compared to Clampitt, and a clean car, but he was too fast for me. I ran him down from 3.3 to 1.2 seconds but I kept screwing up my corners in the last 10 laps and could never catch him. I could have maybe gotten to his back bumper, but I likely would not have gotten around him.
I will happily take 2nd in my first race in this series. I felt like I could have had a shot at the win, but runner-up to one of the very best drivers on iRacing is almost a win in itself. Thanks to @craftjerseys, @hrtesport, and @kiboy.png, and congrats to @lclampitt44 on the win. Next week we head to Richmond where I will be looking for another strong run.
