The Dega Weekend

ree

iSCAR Visits Talladega for the 6th ever Annual Visit to kick off Friday. And for all those drivers who are sitting outside of the top 13, this is their chance to make up ground to push forward to secure their spot in the chase coming a few weeks from now. The last time we were at a superspeedway, things rolled off fairly well for Christopher Weil, Nick Indelicato, Peter Kenny, and Aaron Mulrooney Jr. Not any of those wins were in correlation to each other, all of those wins were resulted from different white flag scenarios.

Truck Series Talk:

Weil has a manageable lead in the truck series as of right now and might walk away as the regular season champ if it holds up for him well at Talladega. Things didn't look pretty during the ARCA race, but he still managed. Drivers sitting at the cuttoff from 12th to 15th are Mark Frimpong, Korey Long, Malachi Drake, Arron Brown, and Josh Patterson. With Mark essentially being out, this would put P17 of Harry Grindell in a good position, all are separated by around 65 points which can easily be made up if done right at Talladega. 62 points + bonus points should be a plausible gain from Talladega if drivers play their cards right.

Xfinity Series Talk:

The closest in terms of "bubble" wise brings us to the Xfinity Series. One bad night for Hunter Johnson, Ryan Kendrick, Casey Drake, Joe Burgy, and Garrett Hess can result in a potential loss of a chase run. All are separated by 34 points. The last person who won at Talladega was Garrett Hess; Can he complete the weekend with another upset win? Or will he downfall outside of the bubble?

Cup Series Talk:

After a long 200 mile event, another points shuffle results in drivers loosing and gaining a ton of positions. A lot of people showed up to Charlotte, and because of that- A DNF could result in a huge loss of points. For Korey Long- now riled back in P13 in points after a bad night, he needs to turn it around on the superspeedway. He has a ~20-30 point gap to Brody Garner, David Bachman, and Josh Patterson. What can he do to get himself secure?

LAST SEASON'S WINNERS:

Cup - Glen Bundren (After Penalty from Nick Miller)

Xfinity - Garrett Hess

Trucks - Charlie Baier
